ES a strapping 6ft1 or 14 was walking home from golf yesterday when a car stopped and a middleaged fat (his words) woman said "would you like a lift" and winked at him. he replied politely "no thank you" as hes been told not to take lifts with strangers. He said if she'd been "fit" he might've got in - at which point mum goes into one and then he said he wouldnt hopefully hes sensible. He could pass for 16 but never older as still gangly with braces.

My first thought was if he was a she I would be onto police. OH said they would laugh at some saddo woman trying to pick up good looking lads He cant describe car as he was so taken aback and didnt get number. Should I forget it as he will after dining out on it for a while, his friends will be impressed I am sure

We did warn him she could be a "plant " for something more sinister and he reaasured me he wouldnt get in a car even if Cheryl Cole were driving.

Something similar happened to one of my YS's classmates when he was 14. A keen swimmer, he went to the gym a lot and whilst there was asked out for a drink by a woman. To be fair he looked older than 14 but not that much older .

I would like to relate what happened to me age 16. Fortunately I shan't seeing as how this is a family forum and I hate being modded. Suffice to say I was hitch-hiking home from Farringdon......

Believe me,it is mush scarier when its your 15 year old leggy daughter being propositioned by men in a car.

 

It has happened twice now,once to each of them,& its horrifying.

My 5' 2" 14 year old daughter gets letched at by men in cars who for some reason also have to make strange noises too I don't think that I would be overly worried if one of my boys got stopped though (both are black belts which helps )

I always laugh at my mother who worries about Rosie being 'carried off'..... she weighs more than I do now and is solidly built with a lot of fight in her

I agree - for girls its far more serious - ES is a brown belt in karate - and from this point of view can well look after himself. Seriously though this is kerb crawling and a man or carful of them would get into trouble so it swings both ways. This woman is a predator (probably same one Colin is on about ) and should face full force of law if caught. And at 14 he is still a child.

We haven't any children (by choice), but if we did and some letch tried anything on with one of them. Well I know why people get mangled.

What makes it all right for men to shout and gesture at girls with short skirts etc. It just makes me really angry, bet if it happened to their child they'd sing a different tune.....
