Hi just wondering as a new chicken keeper which product is best for disinfecting runs coops etc?

I'm no expert but for my Eglu I just use weak fairy liquid and warm water for the regular big clean. I expect someone else will have better advice.

Stalosan F is a powder disinfectant and useful for sprinkling on soil, concrete, woodchip or in coops

 

Poultry Sheild is a spray useful for cleaning plastics and can be used on plastic and wooden coops to kill germs and blitz red mite too

 

Virkon is a powder or tablet disinfectant and great for a big full on clean - its very strong

 

I'd say that Stalosan F is probably the most useful

Thanks from me as well. If I do get a problem I will know what to use.I do use red mite powder in the Eglu just in case.

Virkon or Viratec are both good for wet cleaning. I used BioDri as a powdered disinfectant.

Hi where is the best place to get Stalosan F? is there a recommended online supplier or will pet shops sell this item?

I use Stalosan F and I got mine from the local horse feed merchant place
