How to keep the flooring inside the WIR

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found a way to stop the flooring from their WIR migrating into their house? We are using rapport but also have some aubiose in ours and it's getting everywhere. I have one of those Turtle mats inside the conservatory and that collects most of it, but I keep finding bits of it all over the house and it's doing my head in. I think the dog might be guilty of walking some of it in as she isn't trained to wipe her feet, unlike OH who is partly trained. Never had a problem when we were using woodchips as it was heavier and stayed where it was.

I'm sadly one of those people who is very housepride and always hoovering and right now I feel I am hoovering for England as I can't stand seeing the stuff all over the place. I feel like I am living on a farm right now

You could try wearing shoes that you only use outdoors when with chickens or in the garden. Then leave them in a little cupboard by the back door?

No help on the poor  that should be paw wiping front though.

When I saw the topic subject I thought you were going to ask about boards that people put up around the edge of the WIR to stop it falling out. :)

Edit: wrong spelling

I must just be a messy chicken keeper then as I already have a pair of shoes I only use for the WIR which I keep inside the conservatory, so I never go into the house itself with shoes that I've worn outside. I also keep my wellies out there for those rainy days. I conclude therefore that I'm either being way too fussy about my house or that the dog is the main culprit. Why did I put she had feet, silly me, I did mean paws, guess I am humanising her
