Chicken boarders

[Chicken deficient]

Our Eglus are out the back of our garden on our veg patch.

They are in a big walk in run, with a basic lock, but are not totally thief-proof.

 

Our house insurance company can't cover them.

Any ideas about getting insurance for them? I wondered if you can get allotment insurance or something?

I live on the end and you only have to pop your head over the wall to see my cube. I live in a very urban built up area and I wouldn't say it was pleasant. We have had problems with drug taking, yobs and much more over the years and I would love to know if there is an insurance that would cover my cube. I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

The eglu is quite big to be able to pick up without taking apart + stuff, and if they did you'd probably hear them if it was at night.

Doubt anyone would be able to take the cube unless they knew exactly what they were doing to take it apart!

 

Maybe just make the garden more secure with a security light and a tougher lock on the WIR

 

Ours are at the top too, but surrounded by other houses. The Go can't come out the WIR without taking it all apart 'cos the door is too small

I agree with you the cube would be very difficult to move and we have huge bolders on the run skirt. We did have a light on in the garden but this would help intruders to see and also keep the girls up at night. OH is home most of the time this helps. I was paranoid at first but you just have to have a little faith, in what I don't know. I just wouldn't want any thing to happen to the girls. We sleep with the window open most of the time so we would hear the girls.
