enpekt
Our hatchling cockerel, Frank, is now free-ranging with the rest of the flock despite his 14 week age. Today we noticed him standing still until an older hen came near, when he pranced on tiptoe around her. Naturally, she spurned him. This happened a couple of times. Is he becoming "of age"? and is this his version of a warm-up line?
Chicken deficient
My cockerel Rocket does flamenco dancing round the hens, strumming his wing feathers with his foot for extra effect.
Daphne
Yes - he's practising the wing dance for Strictly! Its a chicken chat up... or more accurately a 'look at me' chicken pose. When he really wants to do the deed my boy just raises his hackle feathers and then jumps on them if they don't run off quickly enough

mostin
Ohhhhhh yeahh, my boys have some very funky dances when they are trying to get the girls attention , there is lots of circling and stamping of feet involved
craftyhunnypie
I'm sure one day I'm going to call a cockerel John Travolta. Reminds me of the dancing competition in Grease! Emma.x

I think my brute of a naked neck does this near Faith the buff laced dotte. does it look like he's got his foot court in his wing by any chance? with the other girls that he has his way with it's a case of 'hit' and run or all out warfare. but for some reason with Faith he's using the above method. Chicken deficient
Not so much like his foot is caught, think more bullfighter with a cape. It's difficult to see eggactly what his feet are doing though, as being a Pekin his bloomers get in the way. It never actually leads to anything though... (p.s. the cara went all droopy and brown a few days after I asked your advice about them)
