food and introductions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got my 3 bantees in July at about 7weeks, They are in their own section of the WIR and come out for an hour or so a day to play with the bigger girls.

I'd really like to take the partition down by christmas, but the bantees are on growers, if I put the in together they will be eating what the like as I dont suppose they would stick to their own food!

Would this be a prolem if they went onto layers??? If so I'll keep them seperate for while longer...

Thanks

Kay

Good idea Egluntyne.

My big girls were moulting so I hoped it might stop them laying and give them a bit of extra protien for feather growing. Grackle keeps on laying though, she's a real trouper. Pigeon stopped but has just started again and lovely brown eggs with good shells. She's laid softies and all sorts of odd things for the past year. So it's not done them any harm. Feathers coming through are looking good 8):D

I gave mine all growers when the little ones moved into the WIR - the big girls will be fine, only realy difference is the calcium, so you may have a drop in eggs for a short while.

Could do that to use up the growers you have left and start moving them on to layers as Egluntyne suggested :)
