Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

There is a lot of doom and gloom at the moment, with our poor girls out in the cold and wet. But today we have beautiful winter sun, and I thought I should share with you our girls making the most of it. It alwyas makes me to see them sunbathing, they look so funny! And Ruby is rather muddy having just emerged from the veg patch.

Ours have been sunbathing. Gwladys (frizzle silkie) is particularly amusing as she looks like somebody has thrown a pile of feathers down on the ground and you only realise it is a chicken when a foot or wing emerges from the heap! Didn't get a photo though

The yellow legs were actually allowed to sunbathe alongside the black legs this afternoon, it was lovely to see and they were clearly all enjoying the sun as they were all rolled right over on their sides with legs and wings stuck out willynilly, and were relaxed enough to shut their eyes from time to time. So sweet.

It's been thick fog here all day - lees sunbathing happening, and more squawking to try and find each other!

I had never seen ours sunbathe before and was not prepared for the odd positions they adopt... I screamed for my other half to come and help quickly as I thought they had all been killed and left in a pile... Silly me.

Our original three hens were killed by a terrier that not only pulled our fence apart to get in, but then ate into the chicken house to get to them, so I am prone to assuming the worst!
