Plum
May have been pecked so watch them. I use purple spray which is mild antiseptic and it disguises the blood which the others may go for.
The Dogmother
Sometimes they just catch it on something. Chickens' combs are like childrens' head wounds or shaving cuts - they bleed more than they need to. Bathe it, spray with purple spray and puff on a bit of wound powder - it contains a coagulant. debbie9946
Please can you advise as to what the purple spray is. my hen Rosemary had cut herself today, minor, but if it helps?
Plum
It's a little spray bottle you can get from pet shops, horsey shops or omlet shop and contains gentian violet and sometimes aloa vera. You spray it on and end up with lovely purple fingers Just done a google and some are just coloured purple with chlorhexidine in them

Alis girls
Got some evil smelling spray which was adminsitered with care - seems to have stopped bleeding - but now I cant get rid of smell on my hands (didnt wear gloves ) and YS said "whats that 'orrible smell? Oh its you" nice eh - despite several washes of hands and hand cream I can still smell it.
