Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

I was checking the chickens today, and picked Bruno up to see that the left side of his face is swollen, and there is bubbling discharge coming from his eye. I have never seen the cockerels fight with eachother, he seems fine in himself, except lack of sight from that eye obviously. I thought it could be an infection of some kind? I have bathed the eye with cotton wool making sure i throw away each piece and not to spread it, incase it is an infection. Anything else i can do? I think i'll bathe it with tea tomorrow. Any idea what it is?

I have checked all the others and noticed nothing

 

Update: He is sat eating and drinking on my bedroom floor, been in a box over night, the swelling doesn't look better, but now the eye is glued shut. He is going to the vets when it opens.

Sounds like Mycoplasma Mollie better get to vet for some antibiotics

Dont worry though it is easily treated with some antibiotics from the vet

Will it spread to the others? He is in with them tonight. Anything i can do before hand? Think i will get my Dad to take him to the vets tomorrow, as i'm at school.

Would be best to seperate and reduce risk if you can, save treating others if its passed on.

thats all I would recommend too - keep him warm if you can - a box in the house would be ideal overnight depending on how tolerant your parents are!

I agree with all the advice you have been given. It does sound like Mycoplasma. I hope the vet can sort him out.

Hes in a box in the corner of my bedroom. (With the door shut so the cats can't get at him )

I think we will be visiting the vets tomorrow. Poor little Bruno.
