and me at first, I think because they are a bit unpredictable and at first I was never sure if they were going to shoot off and I was so scared of hurting them.

 

I've always had animals so don't know why it was different with chickens, I wasn't even like it with my babies. No problems now though

Good to see your new arrivals! The yellow poos are quite normal. Even after they have settled in, there will still be a few of those lovely smelling things to look forward to!

 

Also, they will soon get used to the chinooks. Let's face it - they have to around here!

Have to say I'm so impressed by how they put themselves to bed and stay there - wish the kids could do the same!

5 days in - our girls are getting a little braver - almost. 2 out of 3 are taking treats from our hands. Luna the Light Sussex is still very reserved though and stands back whilst the others venture forward. Had to laugh at her earlier on. The kids and I were giving them grapes and Peckers wandered out of the run. It took two laps of the outside of the run before I could catch her and put her back. All the while Luna is looking on in horror. As soon as I put Peckers back in the run after a quick cuddle Luna was hot footing it up the ladder, looking round at the other 2, flapping her wings and making noises. I reckon she was giving Peckers a right telling off for cavorting with a human and saying " right that's it time for bed " - oh I wish I could speak Chicken
