Omletina, your boy is very handsome. What is he?

 

He's a lavender araucana....he's not with me any longer, he's moved into the field behind my house with my neighbours 18 hens as she has tons more room and I don't think my garden was big enough for him.

 

Really interested to see how Omletina's is doing?

Not much growth up here as yet as we are quite high up on the pennines.....but more importantly, no holes have been dug at all since I put it down.....if need be I shall seed it come the warmer spring days and keep the girls in the run until it roots.

Well Homebase have a 20% off weekend in a few days - and I had already been considering this, so It looks like I'll be giving it a go too. The only problem is where will the girls be able to enjoy digging and scratching now?

No it's not shown on the website....mine was inside the store, with the other types of netting, for vegetables etc. and some plastic coated wire fencing. You could always ask somebody if they have it. I bought the last 4 rolls in my local store and haven't noticed them getting any more in.

I looked by the fruit netting, but not outside as it was pouring at the time; I'll go along again when I have more time to look carefully.

We needed seven rolls and had to get them from three different home base branches, they were always inside. Yes the girls still scratch around as normal and seem to be enjoying themselves! But hopefully I will get a lawn again.

I've just put a mixture of compost and seed down, A friend pointed out i had put fast grow seed down and

i'll prob regret it as i would have to keep mowing it (i wish).

She hasn't got chickens or rabbits.....bless her

I've just bought one roll of mesh at the moment - it was in the outside section. I'll see how it goes, but basically I didn't get any more as I couldn't carry it (shame when there's 20% off)!

Are the 'staples' stocked there too? I'll try to get down there for a look at the weekend.

Does it need stapling down? I never thought about that!

They sell the staples, but only had one bag when I got mine, so I got that then used some tent pegs where it was needed.
