Luvachicken Posted February 14, 2011 Share Posted February 14, 2011 I finally got Hubby to take me to Rokers to get some Garvo food. I bought 731 for them but forgot to get them any treats . Can I just give them a straight switch of the food or do I need to give them 1/2 of each ? It was a lovely ride through the countryside and I managed to get my rabbit food cheaper and they had 2 brick buildings full of lovely brown chickens for sale.................but Hubby didn't let me have any Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have to say that you notice the difference once they are fully on Garvo. I just paid Jim Vyse, in Andover, a visit and stocked up (mash, treats, alfamix, corn) on the way back from weekend away in Devon, as stocks were getting low and my girls just love Garvo. Just one problem - I only just opened a new bag of food a couple of weeks ago - but am happy to get rid of it so they can have the Garvo instead. Sageandonion Posted February 14, 2011 Share Posted February 14, 2011 Glad you got to Rokers - it's great for pets isn't it . Sounds like I'll have to make a return trip soon as I missed the chickens! With other pets I've always switched food gradually but with the chickens in the excitement of getting them I didn't get any pellets from the poultry suppliers when I bought them. I had the Garvo already at home and the girls tucked into it quite happily and were fine. Let us know how they get on with it. Old Speckled Hen Posted February 15, 2011 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Nowhere near here so I get mine delivered from Newland Grange. They do Alphamix in 12.5 Kg bags now.
