stehaggan
I am currently looking at new jobs and was wondering if anyone has any experience with Gibraltar? I have been to Gib for the day and liked it, we have family an hour away so I am considering trying to get a finance job there but I don't know how easy that would be. I have an agency ringing me later on today with some "suitable positions" I don't know if I have the guts to do it lol

Seagazer
We were looking at this when my husband was made redundant last year. He's also in finance. I think they have quite a lot of ex-pats out there and there are some forums you can look at. The fact that you have family an hour away would make it easier for you. OH has been offered a few jobs over the years abroad, we've never accepted any of them as the kids have always been at the wrong stage of life to move them. We have another possible one now but I always panic about how the older ones (more especially ES) would manage especially on his wage. But if you don't have those problems then why not go for it. You could always rent out your place here and rent there so you don't have to worry about not being able to get back on the property ladder if it doesn't workout. Chucky Mama
Ooh, sounds an exciting although scary prospect. Keep us posted. I went to Gibraltar once and remember is being really 'English' if that makes sense
stehaggan
yes it is probably more english than here but with the sun lol Well I am in a dilema now as a job I applied for a while ago wants me to interview - both at 4.30 monday lol. I have managed to put one off till tuesday, the other job is in Didsbury (down the road) and will be a LOT more £££. So i think I need to have both interviews... see if I get any then decide :-S. Fingers crossed Ill get one of them and then hand in my 4 weeks notice (3 of which Ill be spending in Australia from next saturday) Muwahaha x
Chucky Mama
It's great that you are getting interviews with everything that we hear in the press re the job situation. Let's hope that you are able to choose which you fancy.
