oneyolktoanother
Our chook pip had to have a op as she had impacted crop, she fully recovered and has got to back to being a normal chicken. But she still has runny green droppings which is normal green not bright green, and does normal yellow droppings. We have contacted the vets and they have said it could be a worm infestation but she was wormed with flubenvet 2 weeks ago the doseage we used was 1 tps to 4kg of pellets for 4 chooks which lasted 8 days. They have also said it could be a internal infection but she has had a months worth of baytril and other antibotic can't remember the name, in the space of two months so i could not see how that could be. The vet thought the runny droppings would stop once crop was fixed. I have ordered herban do you think this is worth trying before going back to the vets, as she has got back to her normal self do not want to put her through more stress. Has anyone been through the same thing with their chooks. Thanks in advance
Plum
I think the antibiotics will have upset the gut flora so I would try the herban and failing that try probiotics like Avipro.
sandyhas3chucks
I would send a sample off to Retfords, IMO getting a sample tested is the only way to know what might be going on, and isolating the correct meds for whatever it is. Costs about £23 then the meds.

sandyhas3chucks
herban /oregostim similar I use herban I think on someones suggestion years ago, brilliant stuff there is another product smilar too. I "think" herban is same in as much as it it oregano oil but I think herban has other herbs added. they are both pricey but oregostim last like forever!!! I expect herban does too. Also in between antibiotics a good pre & pro biotic would be helpful. Entrodex was suggested to me by Retfords

sandyhas3chucks
just worth saying that IF there is an underlying problem, it will not go away and my personal experience is that a "normal" runny poo chook will clear up almost immediately the other remedies are used (bokashi/ (yoghurt etc) also worth saying that I have had 2 girls that a almost had dihorrea on sight of plain live organic yoghurt...(just th be aware)

sandyhas3chucks
don't try use a powder Entrodex as recommended by Libby. put it on something she will eat. But my money would be on sending off a sample to see what it is. I had too many odd wet ones sent off with different results and needing different meds. It is now the 2nd thing I do or the first if only very very very recently wormed!!
