Alis girls
Am holding a cake sale at church on Mothers day to raise funds for youth group. I have heaps of recipe books but find I love the recipes on here mainly cos they are baked by humans. So far I have done out of the Omlet recipe book - lemon drizzle, brownies (Bluekarin), dorset apple, the fruit cake you cook on stove and numerous others. Has anyone got any others which I can add to my list - which arent too taxing and are popular - and contain eggs as I have tons. Thanks in antiscipation. Mrs Webmuppet
Funily enough I did a cake stall at a charity book sale today ( I get roped into this every year)............the best sellers this year were Lemon Drizzle Cake, chocolate cake, Bakewell slices ( Rachel Allens recipe), brownies and cup cakes. Cookies and muffins didn't sell well at all.

Alis girls
Havent tried that one - its printed off - Bluekarins brownies went down well with my two and Clarets drizzle cake is a fav - I am going to do a lime one and an orange one. We charge £1 for 4 cup cakes and give people as bag - kids love it.

Lavenders_Blue
I have made THIS CHOCOLATE CAKE several times and it's always proved a real hit. It's really, really chocolatey and very light. Once I've covered the top in the ganache, I often sprinkle with some hundreds and thousands or other decorations to make it look pretty. Also, how about some butterfly cakes? I just use a bog standard victoria sponge mixture for mine - weigh 3 eggs and use the same weight of flour, butter and caster sugar. Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, add eggs and beat thoroughly, sift in flour and fold in, taking care not to knock too much air out. Divide between 12(ish) cupcake cases. Bake at 180C for 15ish mins. Slice tops off when cool, ice with butter cream and put halved top of cupcake back on to resemble butterfly wings.
