oneyolktoanother
Well you have probably read my other post that Pip was off her legs, well thought yesterday things were back to normal she was great, checked her crop and it was full again massive (she had a op in jan for impacted crop) she had been out all day to fr sunday and had over ate was very worried and thought it would'net clear, as my oh had done this before to his aunty's chickens some time ago he suggested turning her upside down and making her sick. As we had read this in the haynes manual i was abit dubious at first but decided after speaking to a poultry person we should do it and being as my oh had done this before. Thankgod we did did this, we did this lttle and often and kept making sure she was ok and got most of it out she had been eating the new bedmax bedding woke up this morning and was very worried but let her out and her crop was empty and touchwood she has been great today, so i am keeping my fingers crossed Today my family found it very funny that at the same time i was throwing up too i just have'nt got a strong stomach
staceychristie
You could try maggots (live ones from a fishing shop) to eat away at impacted crop, but you've found that shes eatting the bedding. Well done. Sour crop (squishy and loose) is also common, and emptying them carefully is good. Just allow them time to breath between upsidedown tips. johnandkymberley
Hi, my Willow had sour crop, natural yoghurt helped her loads as i couldnt get her to be sick, it kills of the bad bacteria that makes it undigestable, she loved it though and i would use it again! xx
