Sammiboo
i'm a big fan of hummus and just wondering if anyone has fed this to their hens as i have half a pot going in the bin or the chickens!!
Chortle Chook
Try them with it. I don't think it would do them any harm, after all it is just chick peas. I haven't given mine any yet but come summer when I eat loads of it they'll be allowed to share if they want to.
soapdragon
My girls love falafel and have had hummus on a bit of bread (three year olds leavings! ) Can't do any harm!! (apart from the bread apparently, which I hadn't realised is a possible hazard! ) (Sorry to digress but, Cheekychook, you are only about 5 miles from us - we are Chalgrove but I havn't worked out how to put up one of those little pictures and related info!! Luddite! ) Casserole Korma Kiev

Cinnamon
I am just down the road too! Hummus will be fine,in smallish doses. In fact the garlic in it is very beneficial

Sammiboo
They loved it! What a success!! Well it's gone anyway lol! Put some leftovers out and chopped up some strawberrys, they did have a few beak full while I was about and was empty when I came home from work!! They made a good job of flicking it everywhere though!!
The Dogmother
Just make sure that you give any treats sparingly and only towards the end of the day. The aim being to let them eat as much as possible of their layers feed - they will always eat treats, but they are not nutritionally complete.
