percy049
Your little 'girl' looks like a light sussex me thinks. In your bottom picture, is that a suffolk pied standing and the front?
Chortle Chook
Unfortunately I can't help with the breeds, but just wanted to say what lovely pictures they are. Such a dear little chick
scarlettohara
Sorry no idea on breed but you probably should wait until she is at least 16 weeks before trying to introduce her slowly to the others
Redwing
jenny is a Warren hybrid Not sure about your little chick - its pretty big though! where did it come from? that may give you a clue as to the breed, do you know if its a pure breed or not? She needs to be at least 16 weeks as Scarlett says before she can be introduced to the rest - hybrids can be nasty to newcomers (more so than a pure breed) so remove the most plaid one and introduce her to the youngster slowly before introducing them back to the flock as a pair - safety in numbers and all that.. speedqueen
thank you everyone. I was told that the black one, 'blossom' , was a black rock (although not a 'real' one!) the white with black, 'betty', was a white rock and no idea about the 'jenny eagle'. (so called because when we used to touch her she would pop her wings up her back and looked just like an eagle! ) I just love them all. They have such lovely temperements and what characters! Betty is definately the 'boss', blossom just wants to be with the kids all the time and my daughter carries her around! it's so funny seeing her laid out relaxing in her arms! and jenny just goes with the flow, being the last one in and all that. i will introduce the chick with blossom, the black one then as she is the laid back one. i remember them chasing 'jenny' round the coop when we first put her in. Pecking order was soon established....... youre last basically! poor jenny. Also should i be worming them now? even the little chick? Redwing
Betty is a Sussex based hybrid, blossom is a reverse Sussex based hybrid often called a Pied Sussex or similar. All very nice and healthy looking birds I'd worm the adults but not the chick yet

Redwing
ah! I always get sussex reverse and suffolk pieds muddle up! they are the same colours tho The 'reverse' Sussex is a pure breed - officially called a Silver Sussex The Pied Suffolk is a hybrid They are more or less the same colour
