Florence
I may have a chance to get an eglu classic second hand ,I was just wondering how many pekins can be housed in one ,currently I have ,or did have ,a pair in small wooden ark which is getting pretty old now but i am also thnking about expanding to about 4 pekins ,would the classic be too small? Tweety
You can easily get 4 Pekins in a Classic - my 3 plus a Wyandotte bantam fit very happily in an eglu classic ,with room for a couple more. The standard sized run would not be big enough for 4 though, unless they were free ranging most of the time.
percy049
Because Pekins are small (classed as bantams), you easily fit 5 in and eglu classic, but probably even
Florence
Well that sounds as if it might work then, they free range a lot anyway and with the run extension that could be the answer
atsw
I've got two Eglu Classics for seven hens, three of which are Bantums. But since long ago, rather than dividing themselves evenly between the two Eglu's as I intended, they all pile into one Eglu every night. What's more, all seven roost on the bars, no one sleeps in the nest box. There's still room, and one of my girls is a giant great Orp .
