Olly
not the only one who can't sleep then but just because I've had too much coffee, not because I'm excited. Chickens are much easier to look after than I ever imagined, and much more fun than I expected too - you will love it. Make sure you post a picture when you've got them! And don't worry, there is lots of support and advice on here.

Suzanne
Hello Yannovitch, My Omlet and 2 lovely girls, Clara and Juliet arrived on Wednesday. They are lovely and I wanted to tell you all about it but the computer went BLACK ! I think I am up and running but any minute it might do it again!Chickens are so much easier and well behaved! They were both quite subdued to begin with (they arrived very early in the morning ) but by the afternoon I had not 2 chickens but 2 characters! I am quite an old bird myself, really very ancient with a garden that I am quite proud of and tomorrow they may be out there Free Ranging for the first time ! I think that their company and the pleasure they give will outweigh the bit of mess etc,. I have rabbits coming in from the surrounding fields who like to nibble my plants and they don't offer me eggs in recompense! I would put some of those lovely symbols that you all do....green eglu ..Miss Pepperpot... Gingernut ranger etc but as I said I am a very old bird and I tried and failed. Thankyou all for all your helpful letters on the forum Suzanne it is something pas midnight, and usually at this time i am sadly asleep...but... tomorrow, at about 12.30, someone from the omlet company will turn up and tell me: hey! you have two hens to take care of! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i'll do it!! thank you to everyone who answered my previous posts about my worries about my lawn and my veg patches... i now know that i will be able to do it not only because i read what i need to know on the omlet website, but also because i know if i have any problem i can just write to you guys and get a share of your experience! it feels great to be art of new adventure like this one! Snowy
Welcome Suzanne! Come on Yan - can't wait to hear about your new arrivals - you can't spend all day in the garden you know!
Hen Watch
Look forward to hearing all about today Yann. All your doubts will disappear when they arrive and you will know you did the right thing in getting chickens as pets. But I had so much help from people on this forum in those 1st few anxious weeks not knowing if I was doing the right thing. Even if I didn't post myself, I read the questions of others avidly. Let us know all about it when you can.
Jill
Hey Suzanne We are both old birds! I find the emoticons really hard but am gradually getting there. My girls had ruined most of my lawn and flowers but hey who cares. They love eating the snails and they give me eggs.
