auntielizzie
I've had my girls for a week now. They have not been wormed so I know I need to get on to this soon. I can't decide whether to go with the Vermex or Flubenvet. I believe Vermex is more of a preventative rather than a cure and Flubenvet is both. I don't know how to get hold of Flubenvet (although I think I can get is on the net). I would be grateful for any advice on what preferences other chicken owners have. Purplemaniacs
Hi welcome to the forum. I would use Flubenvet, I think you can get it on the internet but I buy it locally. When we first had our girls I bought some Vermex but never used it after reading information on here. Chrissie
The Dogmother
Welcome Flubenvet is currently the only licensed wormer for poultry, you can buy it from your vet or any other licensed outlet such as Countrywide stores. Dose as per the instructions and use quarterly. If you do a forum search, there are loads of threads on here about worming, so plenty of advice. Jools
Yes, I use Verm-x liquid added to their drinking water monthly to prevent worms and it's been working for here for several years. However, I'm in the minority and most use Flubenvet. Probably the easiest way is to buy the Marriages pellets with added Flubenvet to save the faff of measuring and mixing. There's a thread here all about it.
