We waited and waited and eventually Bessie went off in to the house. We went out and left her to it and returned at lunchtime. Bessie had done the honours. Ben collected the still warm egg. Put the bread in the toaster and frying pan on the heat. Cracked the egg and it was a double-yolker!!! One very impressed 7 year old who thoroughly enjoyed his first freshly laid egg from a chicken he had fed that very morning! Bessie, you surpassed yourself!
