daxigirl
Having gone from nothing happening this morning I've come home to find that the last exchequer leghorn egg has started there's a small hole with crack line starting to go round the egg. From other peoples descriptions I thought it would be moving about loads but it's not only small movements & you really have to stare to see it. I'm off work tomorrow so I can happily waste the day peering through an incubator window and tweeking my brooder arrangements. Will try and post some picci's and of the big girls too as they've never been on here.

daxigirl
The little hole has got bigger and I can hear cheeping from time to time. How long does it take to hatch, when do you know if assistance is required? I've increased the humidity as much as possible. Anything else I can do? I'm exhausted from keep bobbing back and forth to check on progress.
daxigirl
I am the proud mummy of 1 dumpy, 3 leghorns, 1 daisy. Quite feisy little things aren't they? They certainly come out knowing how to shout too! There are still 2 daisys making noises which leaves 2 dumpys, 1 leghorn & a daisy ominously silent. The next lot won't be ready for another 10 days or so, so got time to recover and disinfect the poly inc for hatching. My dogs are jealous so will have to watch them like hawks. The second I start choo chooing at the babies they're there huffing all over me, not a pleasant experience. (I have tried to get some pics on photobucket but am struggling to make it work with me, sorry, will try again tomorrow.)
chicken bark
I fight with photobucket regularly but please persist I'd love to see them. Your poor dogs - they can be jealous things can't they. FIngers crossed the others hatch but if not enjoy the ones that have.
