JillM
Well the girls are all settled in nicely, no problems at all........until this weekend! Then one of the Gingernut Rangers laid a softy. And a few minutes later head-chicken Esme (a Pepperpot) decided she was broody!!!

JillM
They must have done!! ...unfortunately it has given me an opportunity to feed my morehens disease...and fertile eggs will be arriving in a day or two from Wernlas. Now how did that happen?
Chucky Mama
They must have done!! ...unfortunately it has given me an opportunity to feed my morehens disease...and fertile eggs will be arriving in a day or two from Wernlas. Now how did that happen? Yikes, good luck with that. I have only ever had 1 broody hybrid and she was completely useless at it. She was on and off for weeks but would never have been reliable enough to hatch anything.
JillM
Well she's been hogging the laybox for the last 3 days so far, so I'll see how she goes... But it strikes me that the cube's laybox is probably not the best place to raise chicks, so any constructive crticism will be gratefully received! I'm not new to hatching eggs btw, just chicken eggs. The first of this years batch of snake eggs are in the incubator right now - but they must never be turned and have soft shells. They also take 8 - 9 weeks to pip so a lot more patience is required. JillM
Yes I keep snakes - corn snakes to be exact. And if you have a phobia I'm sure you won't believe me when I say they are very friendly with lovely personalities...but they are!
Alis girls
OKaaay - I am sure they are er nice - please if you put pics on - put a warning as I really get anxious even with pics or on Tv - I once walked into a man wearing a python - nearly died of shock. Thanks and I appreciate not everyone likes birds if friends come who are bird phobic I tell them not to go in my garden or to the door. Mind you whats not to like about chickens? but we are all scared of something.
