Popcorn
Wasn't he just coming back into TV to do something new? That is sad news. He was a gem wasn't he?! We've been collecting the Open All Hours series. Never age. Totally brill. Bless you Ronnie.
Mrs Frugal
We'll have to post our favourite Ronnie moments won't we to cheer ourselves up. I loved "four candles" and the Minister for Pispronounciation ...and The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town !
Guest
I didn't like the Phantom Raspberry Blower, but I loved the sketches at the end of the programmes when they were members of an orchestra or Hawaiian dancers - or the Tea ladies. I also think Ronnie Barker wrote the Breakfast Routine that Morecombe and Wise did to the Can-can

Cate in NZ
I hadn't heard the news , (at work, snatching a quick forum catch-up whilst I'm supposed to be having lunch). I agree Porridge is a classic, and also Open all Hours, I love them both, and I loved the comedy genius of the man, his timing was impeccable, and the dry way he delivered his lines. The partnerships with Beckinsale (oops, forgot his name ) and David Jason were just brilliant. And of course, you just can't forget the Two Ronnies .... it's goodnight from him, and goodnight from me. Fantastic What a sad loss
Ms Cluck
He was well loved in our house too. We used to laugh at the songs at the end of the two ronnies programmes - where they dressed up as bikers or cowboys - so very funny. Mrs Frugal
My best line from Ronnie Barker (it's a Fletcher moment obviously)... He's talking about Pan's People and his favourite dancer... and wistfully recalls; "Beautiful Babs" [Pause] "I can't remember her name!" Bless! Mrs Frugal
My favourites.... MO: Suffer from any illness? Fletch: Bad feet. MO: Suffer from any illness? Fletch: Bad feet! MO: Paid a recent visit to a doctor or hospital? Fletch: Only with my bad feet! ... MO: Are you now or have you at any time been a practicing homosexual. Fletch: What, with these feet? Who'd have me? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [the MO has finished Fletch's medical, and points to some specimen containers over on a table] MO: Now I want you to fill one of those containers for me. Fletch: What, from 'ere?
