scarlettohara
The first week he shook every time he saw another dog coming towards him but I took him to Southwold last thursday and he was fine on the beach and said hello to a nice Jack Russell
The Dogmother
I have had various similar experiences as some of you; I have two lurchers, when Ruby was a small pup and on the lead, she was savaged by a staffie which was rampaging aroudn the park. It only let go when I got a branch into its collar and started to pull tight, since then she has been wary of bull-type breeds, despite most being totally fine. After lots of work, she now plays happily with a friend's staffy pup. If in any doubt I will always keep both my dogs on lead and muzzled if I think it is necessary necessary; despite them being well behaved and recalling well, I would rather remove any chance of nasturtiums being cast in their direction just because they are a working type.
