Jules.
Hi, just wondering if I am alone in the fact that my chickens are always pecking me as if I have/am food and that my chickens keep coming inside every time you leave the door open
Laura & CTB
Mine are desperate to come indoors ever since they realised that there is usually a plate of food out for the cat in the living room - not boring old cat food but mince or prawns they dont think twice about pinching it from under the poor cat's nose!!!! Jules.
Mine stoop so low that they try to bite any cat food they can find They even scare the cats on their own territory wheras I thought it vice -versa.
Mrs Frugal
Mine are sooo cheeky. We left the back door open once and came in to find Clarry sat inside my son's lunchbox . She must have thought it looked like a cosy place to sit!! They all peck me when I go into their run, especially Jenny who pecks my skirts as if they've got bits of food all over them. They also tap on the windows to come in and sit on the patio table watching us if we're inside and they're outside .
Lindsay
Mine are SO cheeky that if I haven't gone out with the 'treat' bowl by about 3pm, they come and tap on the cat flap to get my attention! They're quite scary somethimes!
Snowy
In our house the shout regularly goes up "chickens in the living room", at which point I have to stop what I'm doing and remove the offending chook/chooks (usually Pom ). Then it's a quick check round to make sure there are no poops left behind.
Laura & CTB
I have to be soooo careful if my girls get into the living room - it's all stone flooring which although is great for retrieving poo also means they end up doing a Torvill and Dean impression if you try and grab them too fast!!! - no grip whatsoever and chicken legs skiting everywhere
Guest
Rose is the cheekiest, she is always the one who gets up to mischief Although if you leave the back door open Mickey will go inside and roost on the shelf under the table in the conservatory. She scared the life out of me once when I didn't realise she was there and she started flapping her wings

Guest
Glad you like them We don't have a Doctor unfortunately. Maybe when we move and have a bit more space and no neighbours we will have one
Twiglet
I think I can beat all of you - Sitting in the back room with a piece of trellis blocking the patio door, Lily managed to jump it - ok, can live with that, there's another, taller piece there now. I was eating toast. She came & stood at the side of me looking up & down at the dining room table which is quite high, well above chicken jumping height The next thing I know, Lily is standing on the dining room table wrestling the piece of toast from out of my mouth! I didn't have enough hands to cover the other toast on my plate AND protect the piece in my mouth and lily got away with a crunchy crust. Gave us one of the best laughs we've had for ages though. You can't be cross with them can you.

Guest
I'm afraid to say that I have had to vote 'not a lot' as the Balamory Babes are (at the moment) a touch shy, and disappear off to the eglu when the kitchen door opens!

Whereas to mine the back door opening is like a switch being thrown! Door opens - quietly grazing chooks leap into action and leg it towards the back door. Door closes - madly galloping chooks instantly halt and return to grazing as if nothing happened! I know because I stand staring out of the kitchen window watching them while OH opens and closes the door to test their reactions. Well it's better than telly.
