Alis girls Posted May 8, 2011 Share Posted May 8, 2011 we planted 3 rows of spuds in the allotment and then painstakingly built a raised bed either side. Two rows have appeared and we waited impatiently for the 3rd (middle row) and lo and behold it appeared in the middle of the raised bed Not sure whether the spuds moved or we mis calculated our rows. we did have 2 helpers - which we can blame - elderly dad and YS 9 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

beach chick Posted May 10, 2011 Share Posted May 10, 2011 I'm wondering where some of mine are too... they're coming up in rows but with gaps! mind you, a visiting child knocked my chitting potatoes off the porch windowsill so they all got muddled up, maybe that's why. sjp Posted May 11, 2011 Share Posted May 11, 2011 you get slow starters I've gt 2 in my attempt at heavy wieght spuds that are a month behind the rest 1 first early and one 2nd early but they'll catch up I've also got at least 4 failures which could be down to the chucks or the local cats and a couple that are struggling which I doubt will come to anything but thats spuds for you Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you leave one in the ground from last harvest then you will be sure to see it again the next spring!! Hope you get a good crop nonetheless!!!
