Dodge
Well after Mr fox visited my garden and caused mayhem and upset, I thought long and hard what to do next. I decided that if we were going to keep girls again, then a walk in run was the only solution. Because my garden is quite small, I designed and built a custom W.I.R. and I will post pictures of it later. http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=77765 However today I am the happy keeper of 6 rescue hens from a farm somewhere in Coventry. I was very lucky that the BHWT right at the last minute had someone not show up for their hens and 1 phonecall later we were in a mad panic getting everything ready for their arrival 30 mins later. Blossom Bluebell Georgie Peppa Primrose Rosie I am glad to report that so far they all appear to be settling in ok and we have had 5 today Edited May 14, 2011 by Guest

migsy
Good on you for rescuing them. Great photos - they look like they will be real characters. My rescue hens are absolute delinquents - very naughty indeed. I thought that I would have to handle them with kid gloves but they are well able to look after themselves. They spent the first night roosting in a tree and I thought they had flown away. Now their wings are clipped and I am encouraging them into their coop at night.
