A company that could give out free samples of formula, knowing that free food would be taken up and used, thereby making the mother switch from breastmilk, is shameful.

To do this in places where there was no access to clean water to mix the formula, worse than shameful.

 

I'm not radical in my avoidance, but I would never set out to buy from them.

I totally understand views on Nestlé.

But Tassimo (as well as Kenco, Carte Noire and Maxwell House) is made by Kraft foods which isn't exactly squeaky clean either IMO.

Yes, I agree about that, I was just trying to end on a positive note, choosing perhaps the lesser of two evils.

I feel more strongly against Nestle because of the known contaminated water risk , and couldn't bear to be tied into buying their own brand pods.

Yes i'm of the opinion that Nestle are well aware of what they do, are sued on a regular basis yet still consider their practices which is shameful. They are by far the worst I have come across.

Well, pleased to report that we are making our way through the coffees that came with the machine, and they are yummy!!

 

Being a coffee heathen tho, all the coffee's that are NOT esspresso, can you add milk, as in a flat white?

I often add flat milk (As we don't have the frother gadget) but in a smaller cup than my usual mug for instant or cafetiere coffee as some can come out quite weak and not very hot either. We got some plain white esspresso cups from Dunelm Mill then noticed their next size up was perfect for fitting under the spout of our machine for drinks with a dash of milk.

I'd get a boggo coffee machine so you don't have to spend loads of cash on nespresso-type expensive coffee sachets...

Just play around and see what you like and don't like. I often use an expresso and a lungo -type to make a big mug of coffee. No doubt the 'coffee police' would tell me off , but hey its your machine and your taste!!
