quickcluck
Hi Guys. We are thinking about up grading our coffee machine. At the moment we have an orginal Dulce gusto, which is pretty much worn out! Thinking about a nespresso machine, Have found one that we like, that does the frothy milk thingy... but before I press the button, has anyone got any experience of these? thanks
Cinnamon
I have a Tassimo - love it
stoice
We got the manual Krups Nespresso from ebay. £40 bargain. Bit like this one but we have a bit of chrome effect on it. The guy was selling it because he wanted the auto one with milk frother. We get on great with it though. I think some of the coffee pods are really yummy and the water heats up really quickly. We also found that buying the large pack of pods direct from nespresso was the cheapest as ebay sometimes was more expensive. We may get a separate milk frother though, in time, as I like a cappucino now and again. What one you thinking of getting?
LisaP
Tassimo here too and very happy with it, sorry don't know about Nespresso. Lisa P
quickcluck
This one, as it has a manual frothy thingy! So it makes it a good bargain, plus it has £40 of nespresso vouchers with it for pods. Which pods do you like, or are you a caffine addict http://www.hartsofstur.com/acatalog/11323-Nespresso-Pixie-Magimix.html
stoice
Haven't tried them all yet as we've only had the machine a little while. Some are pretty strong! The decaff ones are lovely too though. Too much caffeine and I'm buzzin'. Nespresso site had your make of machine cheaper than your link I think (Although don't know about the postage etc)

donald
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nespresso-Magimix-M190-Machine-Limousine/dp/B001UE9H6S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306181684&sr=8-1 This is the one that I was recommended, the Krups version is exactly the same (european version of above allegedly, takes same pods)? You can only get the pods from nespresso club and the coffee is the best ever! Works out about 25-27p per cup. I usually club together with relative to get free p&P. You get a whole load of samples to try which ones you like best. The frother is so easy to use just put milk in and turn on(no need to stand holding and its less messy to clean). I have spent a fortune on coffee makers and this is the best. I think it got really high ratings in Good Housekeeping, know several friends with this. Good luck Donald
quickcluck
Thanks donald, that's really helpfull. The Pixie that i've got my eye on is just a different version and you buy the aerocinno separately. Your one was at the top of my list, but seeing it in the flesh, it was too big for the space I have i was wondering how easy it was to do the milk, do you just pour it on the top? Which coffees do you favor?

clootie
I have a Nespresso and it's absolutely fab!! Can't recommend it highly enough - go for it, you're only problem will be choosing which colour of machine to have!!
quickcluck
It is! Although George didn't help me on choosing the product Thanks Clootie, I think it's a done deal. Do you do the frothy milk thing to?
clootie
I most certainly do, wouldn't be without it either, sometimes with a sprinkle of choccie on top too!! That's a secret though I'm a saddo for packaging and this company has got it right, the customer service is fab too. No complaints!!
quickcluck
an excellent recommendation then!!! As long a I know we'll be able to work the whizzy thing it'll be fine. Been looking at all the contraptions to keep the pods in, they look great!!! Which coffees are best for cappo's and lattes?
clootie
Well, it depends on your personal taste. They'll send you a brochure with recommendations and descriptions of every coffee they do. There is also a taster pack if you wanted to go down that route. The frother is as easy as it gets and an ingenious device. All you do is fill it to just over the little whizzer insider (held in place magnetically) and press the button, it'll go out after about 20 seconds when it's ready to go. Just make sure you time your coffee to coincide with the frother or you can always pour the frothy milk into the coffee as it's pouring out of the machine. They have now come up with a system for recycling the pods which is good but I thought they'd look great attached to a huge canvas - emptied first of course Colour order !! This, of course, is down to my OCD tendencies

donald
Hi The milk frother is a container and there are two little frother whisks(about an inch) that pop in the bottom. Either really frothy or less so. you pour milk in up to the markers(depending on which frother). Then you put the lid on and push a button. To clean it lifts off and you just rinse and wipe out with a cloth(you cant dishwasher it). Thats it for the milk. It really is easy peasy and does come in different colours. John Lewis etc sell them but I think Amazon is the lowest price. The coffee is personal taste really, but I have a mix of decaffs and medium strength but you get to try them all(we scored them ). My sister had one and got fed up with me coming round for a STARBUCKS at her house free of charge, so I had to get one!!

Ms Marple
Hi. We have this one http://www.nespresso.com/ecom/medias/sys_master/public/8809998811166/UK_M190-MILK-CREAM_mediaListPage.png We love it. The coffee is great I really like the decaf too. Not sure how far they have got with the recycling, however I take the tops off with a knife , put the coffee grains in my green bin and the aluminium in our can recycling bin. We have had it since January and feel it was money well spent Edited May 24, 2011 by Guest
quickcluck
does the decaf make a good cappo?
Ms Marple
Well I think so, but I guess it is personal taste. I usually drink mine as cappo or latte and I really like it. Unlike instant stuff I do still think it tastes of coffee.
