NaughtyChickens
Hi Last night when we were checking on the girls after they had gone to bed I noticed that Pickle had a very full crop, it felt very soft and squidgy. We checked her again this morning and it had gone right down but it still felt a little soft. Is this normal? Surely if it was sour crop it would have still been full this morning? Could it be very early stages of sour crop? She is fine in herself and behaving normal. Any advise would be greatfully received. Cheers
Christian
If it was normal this morning, I wouldn't worry too much. It could just be that she had a drink early this morning? Just keep an eye on her and check again tonight. With sour crop, the earlier it is caught and treated, the better.

NaughtyChickens
Hi Okay well I've just been out and checked her again and its definitely very soft and squidgy again. Would it keep going down if it was sour crop?
Minnie&Moose
If you're worried about her try checking her crop first thing in the morning to see if it's emptied over night. She should go to bed with a full crop but get up with an empty one ideally - so first thing in the morning is the time to check to see whether things are functioning normally. Good luck. Plum
She may have been drinking more because it's been quite warm
