Unsecure chicken perches

The title really speaks for itself.

One of my girls keeps going into the nest box for at least half an hour but doesn't produce an egg, she has been doing this for the last couple of weeks, although she did lay once last week. I was just wondering whether she could be crop bound. She seems fine in herself and is eating and drinking well.

 

Any thoughts/advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

When mine have trouble laying I've found they pass lots of extra lubricant so if you find the nestbox wet I guess that could be a sign. She is also vacant, fluffed up and miserable so I wouldn't worry too much.

 

Could she be hiding eggs in the garden?

 

Another of mine is in and out of the nest box all day long but she's looking for broken eggs to eat
