Benaberry
One of my lovely new girls, Magrat, was bought as a Leghorn, however, I'm starting to have some doubts. She's actually quite a big, chunky bird (nearer to Bluebell in size and shape than Delilah the Legbar), but more confusingly, since she arrived, we've been getting 5 eggs on a regular basis, which I assume are coming from the 5 big girls as they're all massive apart from Delilah's, which are obvious, being . However, since the appearance of Magrat, we've been getting the most spectacular, deep chestnut brown, very, very speckly, large eggs, which we never had before, so assume they're coming from her. Except I thought Leghorns laid ?! Is she really a Marans/Marans based hybrid? Don't mind either way, she's a lovely bird, and her are gorgeous, I'm just curious What do you think? On another note, finally managed to get a picture of Meg & Mog together enjoying the sun at the weekend: And one of the two Pekins Agnes (buff) and Esme (partridge), being sensible and keeping out of the hottest part of the day in the shelter of the main run:
Jools
She doesn't look like an official hybrid to me, but I'd say she has some Leghorn in her - something about her shape and stance. If the eggs are brown, I'd say her cuckoo markings are down to a lot of Cuckoo Marans in her too, though she's not pure Marans either. They're all very pretty though

Benaberry
she's not a leghorn there's no white earlobes. can't believe i didn't notice that one (especially considering Delilah's are so obvious!) Speckledy/Marans/Leghorn-y mystery combination she is then. Don't mind, as I said, she's lovely, and the dark brown spotty eggs are a nice addition; was just curious as something didn't seem to be quite right
