peckingham palace
Only a few weeks after breaking Primrose from her broodiness, she just started laying again but has gone broody again now. All other 8 girls are fine and show no signs of broodiness so not sure if its just her or something we are doing wrong. Will have to pop an ice block under her tonight again I guess, poor thing
Chook n Boo Mum
Probably just her........she's desperate to be a mum , she might take the hint eventually, but you might just have to keep "breaking the mood" which is a pain, but Mother Nature is a weird old bird & chooks don't have any sense to work with to start with Sha x
Jools
My most regular broodies hanker for motherhood several times a year, I think they either have a strong instinct for it or they don't. That said, my most reliable broody for the past few years has failed me this year and scuppered my hatching plans. Oh well, second most reliable broody hatched seven for me and thank goodness three of those are girls!!
peckingham palace
Bless her, I do feel mean trying to get her out of the habit by popping ice blocks under her, it seems so cruel, but also seems cruel just to leave her sat there when there will be no happy outcome for her. Poor Primmy!
