The fund raising committe I'm on has asked us to look into a Hog roast as a way of a fund raising do. Now I was going to Google but then thought as you do Omlet - what better place to get into, adv and pointers. Anyone organised one, where did you get and roughly how much - I know they arent cheap. Anyone killed their own hog and roasted it (is this possible - I am a hog roast virgin ) thanks in advance

we're just doing this for a fundraiser as well.

Shop around, and ask about the extras, ie, rolls, stuffing, apple sauce, napkins, veg option, etc etc.

A lot price it all by item, and they are negotiable! dont forget to pin them down on milage charges as well, and also if thre is a minimum charge in case of poor uptake/bad weather etc

i personally dont like hog raost, but got shouted down!!!

A free range farm that I know does them £500 for the hog, sauces, baps etc and person to roast it and serve.... last time I asked.

That seems a good price Claret, our friends had a hog roast at their wedding in Cambridge last week, no buns or rolls etc, just the meat and it was lovely very, tender and succulent, accompanied by homemade salads & dishes including a particularly good coleslaw with apple in it

 

Ali have you tried googling hog roast London? I don't know where you live but one of DH's friends had a hog roast at her house in Eltham a few years ago, so it doesn't matter where you are you'll be able to get something.
