whoo hoo! Confirmation of sex (only 3 out of ten boys!)

Recommended Posts

I have been so lucky with my first go at incubation! :D

I borrowed an Rcom20 incubator, bought 10 eggs from the chicken seller round the corner (4 different breeds at £1 an egg!) and popped them in the incu. 21 & 22 days later out they ALL popped! (ok being totally honest... - I helped 2 out as it had been ages :anxious: ).

They have thrived - 4 Barnvelder, 3 Speckled Sussex, 2 Lav Araucana & 1 Lemon Pyle Brahma Bantam.

I had an idea who might be boys, but being a novice wanted confirmation - so took them back round to Sue the lady I bought the eggs from. She confirmed the 3 had identified  1 Barnvelder (who I'm going to keep) 1 Speckled Sussex & 1 Araucana. So glad the little Lemon Pyle is a girly as my OH has already named her Fiona Feathers... (even tho the chickens are 'my thing' lol... :shh: )

Does any one else think this is a particularly good result? - 7 out of 10 girls and 10 out of 10 eggs!

I'm so happy and love them to bits :D

Maybe I should have used photobucket

I'd say so. Photobucket has some great tools to quickly and easily provide the relevant links for forums (one click). You're not alone, I've always struggled with getting Flickr pictures showing outside of the Flickr environment.
