Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

well, my 4 girls are getting on ok so far so good!

 

 

i work every morning and they can fr in our yard every afternoon, blummin eating all my veggies but hey ho!

 

when i open the door to let them out 3 of my girls zip out before i can even take a step back but my warren (cherry) has not been out once, she is quite flighty still as only had her 2 weeks, ive tried ushering her out by hand and with a broom but she wont have it!!!

 

should i just leave her to do what she wants or does anyone have any ideas?? i have tried to coax her with corn and mealworms to no avail!

As long as she is eating/drinking and healthy she may still be getting used to her new home,try handling her in the evening when she is calmest to help the settling in .

 

More of the same with the coaxing,but forcing her may just spook her.

 

One other thing i would check is are the others bullying her or are they all friends.

I was thinking as I read your post, that similarly any of mine can do 'extreme not going out' when they are just about to go indoors to lay?

Is she an afternoon layer perhaps? (who is now afraid to come out for fear of the broom of doom? )

well i think one of them might be trying to lay, i keep finding a very small/tiny bloodied mess in the nest box, not poo but not an egg. any ideas guys?

The bloody mess doesn't sound too good. Are you sure it's blood? Are you feeding your girls any cherries or raisins?
