my bantie is not herself

Recommended Posts

My yr old orp banty is not herself.

Started the routine worming 5 days ago , all the girls were fine, as fraz is an orp she is broody frequently so i have not been worried that she hasn't laid for 2 wks.

today i noticed her comb is not as red as normal, i have checked her over with a fine tooth comb, abdomen is soft, poo normal , no wheeze,no discharge anywhere, no mites , crop ok but not a lot in it ( thought she was missing her treats whilst worming )

i have watched her on and off and she has been active and doing chickie things......but tonight she couldn't hop up into the cube......i have put her to bed but i am very worried.

What am i missing ? any ideas ?

I don't have any chickie vets in the area.

My vet gave her a look over as she was down , not a mark on her food in crop she wasn't bullied, nor any evidence of a softy, sadly she died the vet thinks it was a virus, i didn't want a pm, i buried her.

The other two are very well, cleaned out all the bedding and scrubbed the coop, lots of stalosan etc just incase .........i know if it was a virus it won't help but at least i know everything is extra clean.
