Omlet cube and run

Hi all,

 

first post, we are collecting our first hens tomorrow with an Eglu classic and 3nm run.

 

I have laid slabs to put the run on and whilst I have a temporary measure in place, I'd be interested in ideas for holding the run in place.

 

I saw a photo on here of one on a patio but can't find it now!

I use heavy rocks.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting an eglu and new girlies .

 

Sleepers work well if you can find any but anything heavy will do. I used old coping stones on the skirt at the door end and that was enough to weight the whole run down.

Day 2 in the Eglu chicken house!

 

Our lovely new hens provided us with 2 eggs on day 1 and seem completely chilled out and unconcerned with the move.

 

The weekend will see the construction of a fenced off part of the garden for them to free range in. A selection of tasteful rocks will be procured to hold the run down in style and the sheds will be reorganised.

 

Each of those two eggs has so far cost us around £250. I'm hoping this will improve.
