vikchick Posted July 13, 2011 Share Posted July 13, 2011 My broody only hatched 1 chick out of her 8 eggs last Thursday and that was 5 days late .. anyway was doing find and I have managed to sorse some day olds to put with her as I know they shouldnt be brought up on there own ..anyway this morning i went to check on mummy and baby ..mummy got out of her nest to greet me as she always does and baby was hanging from a feather from her chest dead poor wee thing and it was doing so well .... now what do i do???? still get the day olds for her ? i cant get them until friday ...will she take to them i plan on putting them under her friday night if she is still sitting in her nest ....can i do anything ???? any advice would be very welcome Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

vikchick Posted July 18, 2011 Author Share Posted July 18, 2011 well all worked out perfectly ... i got the chicks a day early so poopy my broody was with out any chicks for just over 24 hours i showed her them with them still sitting in the box at midday friday she plonked her self on the floor and started talking to them straight away ... she is now the proud mummy of 3 gorgeous little Hy-line hens couldnt have been any easier she is an amazing mummy and it bought tears to my eyes watching how happy and content she is now Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
