Hope & Harriet:

Hope the Gold-Laced Orp (named for obvious reasons):

Harriet the 'who-knows what' (named because I think she bears more than a passing resemblence to a Harris Hawk!):

I finally came up with names for them after getting things off my chest to you lovely chicken-mad people on here over the weekend, and morehens is also starting to kick back in; I'm going to see some Pekins at the end of the month with the hope of picking two for my birthday.

The only good thing to come out of last week? Hubby has now moved building the chicken-Alcatraz walk-in run up the 'to do in the garden' schedule, and work has commenced. Harriet & Hope are confined to the old house run at the moment whilst DIY SOS is going on in their part of the garden, but hopefully it won't take too long. He's built the framework to one of the doors, and is now digging a very large trench around the perimeter to bury breeze-blocks in under the frame; if foxy come back, he'll get an awful headache (and toothache; the weldmesh we've bought from Hills is very, very strong  ). Excuse the state of the top end of our garden; lack of a functioning shed means garden turns into a building dump site when work is going on :wall: (and the veg has gone utterly wild this year)

Thank you again to all of you  Omleteers who helped over the weekend; even though I'll never forgive myself for last week, I'm at least starting to accept that accidents happen and I'm only human - and the new girls are now helping that :D
