beach chick Posted July 14, 2011 Share Posted July 14, 2011 I am rather pleased with myself - our combined contents and buildings insurance renewal quote was an incredible £2,500 from our current insurer This was with only one minor claim over two years ago... I have managed to get it down to £750 with another lot - result! also recently fixed our gas and elec monthly payment for 3 years at LESS than we were paying already. cant do much about the mortgage as that is fixed but just trying to think where else I can save! For years we paid Virgin £25 a month just for broadband and BT the same amount just for the phone, I kept telling DH he was wasting money but he was too lazy to do anything about it so I did I switched to O2 and pay £21.75 a month for both & have free landline calls at anytime, plus free calls abroad & certain premium rate calls free too. Doing a weekly meal planner and only buying what I needed cut my shopping bills in half too. If you like takeaway food there's a good book called the takeaway secret which is healthier versions of favourite meals and a lot cheaper too!
