Hello,

I'm a newly enchanted owner of 3 lovely ex bats who are endearingly bonkers.

They have all started to duck under their water trough the bottom of which is about six inches off the floor. They do this repeatedly, stooping underneath - pushing through - turning left and doing it all again.

It is fun to watch but I hope it isn't a symptom of deeper problems.

I'm sure it could just be that they are very daft - but very loveable.

 

Any ideas please?

Its most likely that they are enjoying all of the new feelings, sights and sounds around them. They sound very happy with their lot.

nah, they're fine. My previous lot of non-ex-bats used to do it, but only when they thought you'd let them out.

They stopped when they thought I wasn't watching...

My Amber star and Blue Belle do EXACTLY the same with a repetitious pattern around the run, under the feeder and back again. how bizarre!

MIne are exactly the same too. I had thought it could be an obsessive behaviour because they really want out! But they do actually stop it after a while when they know you are not around. If they don't try to duck under the water thingy or each other they step on it and vault over!
