chuckmum6
My remaining Maran bantie has become lame, she also seem to have trouble breathing and turn purplish. I also feel she is too hot, so have started her on antibiotics, although her sister had similar problems and the outcome was bad.
Plum
I would take her to a vet, if you've had another like it then it could be infectious. Good luck

gongladosh
Sorry to hear it (hope she recovers!) When did her sister have similar issues, was it recently?
chuckmum6
Her sister was ill about three months ago, the vet didn't feel it was a contagious illness, more likely a tumour or liver problem. The strange thing is the limp, I think that Onion my cockerel maybe the cause of the limp. The other Maran just wasted away, this one is still eating, but is not getting any better even though she is isolated and resting.
