Painful joints?

Recommended Posts

I've decided to start taking Glucosamine again... I stopped a few months back, purely for reasons of economy, but have noticed that the pre-arthritis in my (hyper-mobile) thumb joints is much worse so I'll get back on it.

Now I've started on the glucosamine my OH has joined me. Like you he has painful thumbs. At one point it was thought to be tendonitis but I think it may be arthritis (I'll let him know that you found it useful)........old age doesn't come itself....as my mother used to say!

Hi,

I have psoriatic arthritis in both ankles left knee and right elbow. I am currently on 2 lots of dmards (disease modifying drugs). The first tablets didn't seem to help me at all but when they introduced the second drug it has switched off the athritis! Anyway before I had started the second drug I researched into supplements a lot and was already taking glucosamine, which unfortunately for me didn't seem to change the situation. but I was about to start taking Litozin which is a Rose hip supplement which a lot of arthritis sufferers swear by but seeing as the drugs the rheumatologist gave me is working have not started it.

My rheuamatologist wouldnt comment on any herbal supplements when I asked her about them. she told me she gets a lot of people delaying their treatment to see if this supplement will work, or maybe this remedy will work, and I must agree that I was doing everything to squirm out having to be put on the medication! With my type of arthritis they, like to hit it hard with the drugs early to stop the disease progressing and doing permanent damage to the joints.

anyway ifq you google Litozin you will find lots of articles relating to arthritis.

Michelle :)
