Richard
Wow - that sounds a really fun and exciting way of doing the job. I will give it a try. thanks
Louise
That's a great idea Richard - you'd love my Phil's patio; he went to a reclamation centre and got lots of different quarry and slate tiles, bricks and stiff and has a sort of patchwork patio and path, with bottle bottoms and irridescent marbles set into it. I love it and want to do something like that with mine, I've been raiding skips for old quarry tiles etc. Wish I'd known when you were up here Clare I have loads of old slate tiles that are the wrong size for my roof (theyare scottish slate and my roof is welsh ) You could have taken a load of them for your patio
compostwoman
Wow - that sounds a really fun and exciting way of doing the job. I will give it a try. thanks I am sure I have seen it done this way several times, although I have never tried it myself......( but I can't recall where or how long ago I saw it!) but perhaps you had better be VERY careful and wear goggles and take appropriate precautions when trying it? don't get hurt!!! Richard
I've just borrowed a £30 tile cutter from a friend of mine (he got it from Screwfix) and it is making very short work of cutting the bottles. Easy peasy. Mind you, I still fancy trying the red hot poker method - it sounds much more fun.
chrisnrob
I presume by a red hot poker, you don't mean this: Rob
