The Raven
I love the look of eglus (bit on the expensive side though....and none for sale near me ) The without a run might be a possibility, (i doubt it though - a secondhand one might be ok...) I would like it for - buff orpingtons. I don't have them yet, and would love them. Also, wouldn't plastic get hot in summer? and if ventilated, cold in winter? just wondering. Also, does anyone know a decent supplier of fairly cheap yet sturdy coops? Could build one i suppose, but I'm not skilled at that sort of thing..... Egluntyne
Have a look on the main Omlet website for information about the Omlet housing being constructed so as to be warm in winter and cool in Summer.
The Raven
Thanks, I have I still don't know if the eglu go is ok for ducks though, and I have just found out that I am in the delivery area for chickens, and i love the look of tthe omlet chickens (especially fond of miss pepperpot) so once again i am facing the same dillema: chickens or ducks? I know enough about each, so i'll find it out for myself. ? ? ???
ubereglu
Do a bit more research and try to visit someone with ducks/chickens to see which ones you prefer. Lewis has an eglu go for his ducks and speaks very highly of it.
Lewis
Whereabouts do you live? See if you can go and see chickens and ducks and also the eglus, there are a few suppliers you could try, or see if theres a local Hen Party to you I bought my Go for the Gerald + Jemima, my ducks. I took the roosting tray out of it, which isn't good for their feet, so they were just on the flat tray underneath and they were fine in it Now its in the WIR, Gerald tends to sleep outside of it and stand guard over the chickens
