Now that the chickens are settling into the cube, I've been thinking about a bit of amusement etc for the girls. Do you think they'd be any good ?

Do you think they would be very long? I've pushed some wood from one side of my run (although it is an eglu run) to the other and my girls perch on that. Just sticks out a bit either end. Also put in an upturned clay flower pot and they like to balance on that. I know others have used IKEA (other brands available!) shoe racks or even wine racks.

This is interesting! I can't contribute, but am wondering the same thing - how to fix some sort of perch in my new cube run (and what sort of perch to use!)

We have just pushed 2 pieces of wood through the cube run, one lower than the other like steps, cheap and very effective

I have two doves and use parrot perches for them but I have found that parrot perches don't really work for chickens. They are not normally wide enough and chooks can find them uncomfortable. You could use small branches or a few different sized small logs. These might have the advantage of a few bugs on them. Yummy if you are a chook
