Cat trouble

Recommended Posts

We have a new cat in the neighbourhood, a large ginger thing. I have just spotted in in the back part of the chicken run. Luckily the girls were round the front. Not sure what to do? When my cats got in there, the original three hens attacked en masse and the cats were terrified, but I don't know what this lot would do. I think Talullah (White Star) would just be a total head case and run in circles panicking, great fun for a cat.

How worried should I be?

I think the cat would come off worse for wear if the girls acted together but the cat may manage to damage one if it got isolated.

Can you put some string across the top of the run for the time being - it may be enough to put the cat off. Or get the water pistol out of course. :?

oops bit of a cross post.

I have heard that too, gingers are usually male, although not always, but tortoiseshells are always female

Sorry to disappoint, but whilst often gingers are males...we had a lovely ginger female cat called Kerry many moons ago..we used to call her the mechanic, because the only marking she had that wasn't ginger was a tiny bit of tabby on one paw that looked like she had been tinkering with a car.....:lol:
